Cause #1- Prepared to Thrive
Donate new and gently used baby items
Prepared to Thrive is a nonprofit organization located in Chester County, PA. They provide moms in need with essential baby items, including clothing, diapers, and gear. They supply mothers and families with the crucial baby items they need to give their children a safe, happy, and healthy start. They hope to alleviate some of the stress that new mothers without a support system face, and to help set them up on a successful path to motherhood (taken from their website).
Prepared to Thrive takes BOTH new and gently used items*.
Please drop off items outside of Pocopson Elementary School's Main Office doors on Monday, 1/17/22.
Large items or prefer to drop off before then? Text Meghan at 484-431-8800.
They are most in need of NEW socks (0-2T), pajamas (0-2T), diaper cream, and bottles.

Cause #2- Dorothy Day Center
Create Preschool Activity Kits for children in need
The Dorothy Day Center, also known as the St. Agnes Day Room, was founded in 1992 to serve the basic needs of the poor and the homeless in the West Chester Area. The Day Room continues to provide hospitality to those in need in a caring and welcoming environment where they seek to serve anyone who comes to them in need of assistance (taken from their website).
The Dorothy Day Center provides many services to community members in need. You can read more about their services and mission on their website. They have asked us, at Pocopson Elementary School, to help with their younger children in need.
If you and your child are interested in creating a Preschool Activity Kit for children in need, please fill out this form and we will get you a tote bag or bags to decorate before the weekend on Friday, 1/14/22. When finished, simply drop off your tote to school on Monday, 1/17/22 between 9AM-7PM or email pespto@ucfsd.net to arrange a drop off on another date (no later than 1/19/22).
We hope that this service project will be hands-on and even a little fun for your kids to get involved in. Kids are encouraged to decorate these tote bags however the want! There is a video below, which may help. They can use fabric markers, fabric paint, tie dye, whatever will allow the bag to continue to function as a bag and shows their imagination!
Once they have finished decorating the actual bag, please fill it with any or all of the following. If you can think of anything else, feel free to add it:
